Our driving range near Derby, in Codnor:A driving range for all types of practice
Our Trackman driving range near Derby does what a normal range cannot: it tells you the truth about every shot. Each covered bay is fitted with Trackman radar, the same technology used on tour, so the moment you strike a range ball you see the ball speed, launch angle, spin, carry distance and club path behind it.
Practise with your driver, work on wedge distance control, or play Trackman games and challenges against friends, from closest to the pin to virtual courses. The bays are spacious, covered and floodlit, so your practice sessions carry on through winter evenings and wet weekends. Pay contactless at the ball dispenser, with baskets from £4. No membership needed.
The range is at Ormonde Fields Golf Club on Nottingham Road in Codnor, roughly 20 minutes from Derby and a few minutes from Ripley, Heanor and Ilkeston, with free parking directly outside the bays.
Is this for you?:Our Trackman Driving Range is for you if
What every bay gives you:What the range actually gives you
Four things you get in every bay that a standard driving range simply cannot offer.
Live Data On Every Shot
Ball speed, launch, side total, carry and total distance on your screen the moment you hit. Practise with data rather than guesswork.
Virtual Golf Courses
Play the world's most iconic golf courses on Trackman and experience tee it up where the pros do each week.
Games And Challenges
Play Trackman games on your own or against friends, from closest to the pin through to virtual courses.
Map My Bag
Dial in your yardages with a Trackman ‘map my bag’, leaving knowing exactly how far each club goes in your Trackman app.
An hour of practice where you can see every number beats three hours of hitting balls and hoping. That is the whole point of a Trackman range.
Our approach
The Evolution Approach
Six things that stay the same, whichever part of the academy you use.
- 01
Understand the golfer first
Before anything changes, we take the time to understand your goals, your golf and how you actually want to spend your time here.
- 02
Measure, do not guess
TrackMan technology and TPI movement principles mean every decision is based on what is really happening rather than an opinion.
- 03
Find the reason why
Technical, physical, or simply how you practise. There is always a reason changes are not sticking, and we identify it before we act.
- 04
Specialists who work together
Our PGA Professionals, physiotherapist and strength and conditioning coaches share what they find, so nothing gets missed between them.
- 05
A plan built around you
You leave with a clear, personalised plan built around your body, your goals and the time you realistically have to practise.
- 06
Progress you can see
We measure again as you go, so improvement is something you can point at rather than something you hope is happening.

The practice facilities here are second to none. I couldn’t of been more impressed, the grass range is an amazing touch and the track man bays are top notch as well, mats are perfect not worn, balls aren’t battered, great value for money, definitely my go to practice facility now.
