How we help

Physiotherapy built

around your golf

Four ways our physiotherapist gets golfers out of pain and back onto the course.

01
Detailed Assessment

A thorough movement and clinical assessment to identify the source of pain, restriction or dysfunction, rather than guessing at it.

02
Hands On Treatment

Treatment where it is appropriate, targeted at the cause of the problem so relief lasts beyond the appointment.

03
Rehabilitation Programmes

A structured plan that rebuilds strength and movement quality, so the same injury does not return next season.

04
A Safe Return To Golf

We plan your return alongside your coach, so getting back on the course happens at the right time and in the right way.

Playing through pain is not a long term plan. Most golfers who get it assessed properly are surprised how quickly it settles once the real cause is treated.

OUR APPROACH

The Evolution Approach

Six things that stay the same, whichever part of the academy you use.

Understand the golfer first

Before anything changes, we take the time to understand your goals, your golf and how you actually want to spend your time here.

Measure, do not guess

Trackman technology and TPI movement principles mean every decision is based on what is really happening rather than an opinion.

Find the reason why

Technical, physical, or simply how you practise. There is always a reason changes are not sticking, and we identify it before we act.

Specialists who work together

Our PGA Professionals, physiotherapist and strength and conditioning coaches share what they find, so nothing gets missed between them.

A plan built around you

You leave with a clear, personalised plan built around your body, your goals and the time you realistically have to practise.

Progress you can see

We measure again as you go, so improvement is something you can point at rather than something you hope is happening.

Why golfers choose us

Why Golfers Choose Evolution Golf Academy

everything needed to actually improve sits on one site, and every change is measured rather than guessed.

PGA Professional Coaching

Every golf lesson is taught one to one by a PGA Professional and built around your body, your goals and your golf swing. No templates, no generic swing models.

Trackman On Every Shot

The same radar technology used on tour measures your club and ball on every swing, so changes are proven by numbers rather than opinion or feel.

20 Minutes From Derby

Roughly 20 minutes from Derby and 25 from Nottingham, with free parking directly outside the bays and the teaching studio.

The practice facilities here are second to none. I couldn’t of been more impressed, the grass range is an amazing touch and the track man bays are top notch as well, mats are perfect not worn, balls aren’t battered, great value for money, definitely my go to practice facility now.

I had a lesson with Will. He was attentive and planned an approach to how I could improve. After some practice the planned improvements paid off. Highly recommended.

Golf coaching with Will was a great experience. He helped progress my game using their Trackman technology and the driving range facilities to practice what I had been taught.

Will gave me good advice and made adjustments to my swing. Huge improvement in just one lesson, best £50 I have ever spent.

golf questions and answers

Golf Physiotherapy in Derby FAQs

Where can I see a golf physiotherapist in Derby?

At Evolution Golf Academy, Ormonde Fields Golf Club, Nottingham Road, Codnor, Ripley DE5 9RL, around 20 minutes from Derby.

Do I need a referral for physiotherapy?

No. You can book an assessment directly with us and we take it from there.

What happens in the first appointment?

We talk through your symptoms, carry out a clinical and movement assessment, then explain what is causing the pain or restriction and how we will treat it.

How is golf physiotherapy different?

Your golf swing is assessed alongside your body, so treatment addresses how your swing mechanics and your symptoms are connected rather than treating them separately.

Can I keep playing golf during treatment?

Usually, in some form. Your return to full rounds is planned with your coach rather than left to guesswork.

Do I need a TPI screening as well?

Not always. If a movement limitation is part of the picture we screen it and involve our strength and conditioning coach in your rehabilitation.
